“My work is influenced by technology, nature, architecture and my travels. Its composition is inspired by the ever-present background of the West Coast wilderness, by the lines of fractured rock, aged ceramic and abstract aerial maps which are combined with fields of colour on highly textured surfaces. I seek to create tension within the canvas via formalized entity placement and the contrast between space and focal points. In this way a subtle language is created between the elements of the piece which can be at best half understood.”
