Patrick Leach
Bio
Patrick is from the Coast Salish community, Snuneymuxw First Nation (Nanaimo, BC), and was raised in the community of T’ít’q’et, (near Lillooet, BC), St’át’imc Nation Territory, as a member of the P’egpig’7lha (Frog) clan.
After 10 years of working as a firefighter with the BC Forest Service, Seton Lake Crew, Patrick chose to pursue his creative side and in 2008 opened P’egpig’7lha Studio and Gallery.
Along with providing his photography skills for commercial clients, weddings, portraits and nature photography, Patrick creates hand-crafted pottery depicting landscapes, pictographs and basket weaving designs.
Patrick sculpts each piece on the pottery wheel using porcelain clay then hand carves the images using a unique technique. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation.
Patrick’s pottery has been chosen as ceremonial gifts for major corporate and territorial agreements and can also be found featured in some of Victoria and Vancouver’s top museums and galleries.
